Marlene Finney born December 7, 1952, passed quietly at home on December 12, 2023, much to the surprise of her loved ones.
Marlene rarely did anything quietly. The daughter of the late Marjorie and Paul Wallace, Marlene was the embodiment of an independent woman. She had a low tolerance for nonsense and an even lower tolerance for ignorance. She commanded any room she entered, gracing the space with her infectious robust laugh, and her ability not to take herself too seriously. She was an animal lover and an avid supporter of the ASPCA. She was one of the few who didn’t turn the channel when the Sarah McLachlan commercial came on.
She is survived by her daughter Samantha B. Shaffer of Altoona PA, sister Cindy Gibbs (Wallace) of Lake Ariel, brother Paul S. Wallace of Lake Ariel, her dearest and beloved friends James Shaffer of Scranton, Helene and Greg Dando of Clarks Summit, Eleanor Ginitz of Danville, and Lory Henry of Orlando Florida, as well as nieces and nephews.
Marlene left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. She would want these words of wisdom shared…” Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff.”
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905.
