Mary Jane (Livolsi) Licastro, 85, Johnstown, passed into eternal life on October 4, 2022. Born July 16, 1937, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Peter and Lucy (Belanto) Livolsi.
Preceded in death by sister, Carmelene Livolsi Griffith. Survived by husband of 59 years, Joseph J. Licastro; son, Peter (Laureen) Licastro; daughter, Maria (James) Leiden; grandson, David Leiden; granddaughter, Nicole Leiden; nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane attended Johnstown Catholic High School (Bishop McCort) and Cambria-Rowe Business College. She was employed by the PA Department of Labor and Industry – Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, prior to raising her family.
A passionate horsewoman and accomplished rider, she followed her father as the owner and operator of Idle Acres Stables in Johnstown. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Although she will be deeply missed, her thoughtfulness, strength, grace, and warm smile will live on in all who knew her.
The family is grateful to Elaine, Rhonda, and the teams at McCullough Place and AseraCare Hospice, for their kindness and compassion.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown, PA 15905. Father Mark Begly will celebrate a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will be held at St. Anthony Cemetery in Geistown.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 415 Tioga Street, Johnstown PA 15905.
