Mary Ramirez

Mary Ramirez, 97, passed peacefully surrounded by family at Richland Woods on August 22, 2022. 

Born on October 29, 1924 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Giuseppe and Giovanna (Gigliotti) Alessandro.

Preceded in death by her parents, spouse William who died on June 24, 2022, brothers Anthony and John, and sisters Serafina and Rita.

Survived by her loving children, William (Patricia), Larry (Eileen), Joseph (Veronica), Rose Marie Riek (Frank), Anthony (Suzanne), Ron (Wendy), 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister Viola Najjar, numerous nephews, and nieces, especially Deb Polca.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that loved cooking for her family. Her spaghetti, enchiladas, rice, and beans were legendary.

Her favorite pastimes included going on bus trips with her husband to the casinos in Atlantic City and Pittsburgh. She was a Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, and also loved watching college sports.

She was a life member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, formerly St. Anthony Church on Maple Ave., where Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday August 26, 2022. Fr. George Gulash.

Friends received 3-6 PM Thursday, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum.
