Mary Ann Gress

Mary Ann Gress, 83, passed away on January 3, 2024, in York, PA. A proud graduate of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic School in 1958, she furthered her education at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, completing nurses training in 1961. Mary Ann dedicated her career to compassionate service, working as a nurse at Saint Joseph's Hospital and Conemaugh Memorial Medical Hospital. 

Beyond her professional life, she served as a teachers' aide and Eucharistic Minister at Saint Andrew's Church and dedicated countless hours volunteering at the Saint Andrew's food bank. 

Mary Ann cherished 54 wonderful years with Doctor Gordon Gress until his passing in 2021. Together, they were blessed with five children and twelve grandchildren. 

Mary Ann will especially be known for her philanthropy and her love of game shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gordon Gress, her parents, Ellen and Clark London, and her brother, Jack London. She is survived by her five children; Suzanne Weltz (Frank), Kristina Shealer (Denny), Jennifer Love (Jim), Gordon Gress II (Sara), and Melanie Guerriero (Michael); as well as her twelve grandchildren; Nick Weltz, Zachary Weltz, Jake Weltz, Kelsey Bowyer (TJ), Andrew Shealer, Michaelie Love, Sydney Love, Jamie Love, Eric Love, Jason Love, Sofia Guerriero, and Michael Guerriero; and brother Dan London (Louella). 

Friends received from 5-7 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. 

Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Saturday at St. Clement Church, Fr. William Rosenbaum. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
