Matthew A. Magistro

Matthew A. Magistro, 69, of Westmont, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on April 29, 2024, at home. Born on March 14, 1955, in Johnstown, son of Joseph F. and Irene (Appley) Magistro. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Maddie. Survived by his loving and patient wife Christine (Wurtzel), daughters Alexis (Shawn Baum), Alexandra, and Abigail, grandchildren Elena Mae and Charlotte Kae, brothers Ted and his wife Jill of VA, John and his wife Marilyn of VA, and sister Debbie wife of Tom Gill of FL, also many nieces and nephews. 

Matt was a 1973 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School. He owned Magistro Excavation, building golf courses, alongside his brother Ted. He retired from S and C Pipeline and Construction. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing congo drums, and casinos, and socializing with friends. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. 

Friends received from 10:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St. Clement Catholic Church. Fr. William Rosenbaum. Private Entombment, Grandview Cemetery.
