Mildred “Millie” Trotz Obituary

Mildred “Millie” Trotz, 78, of Westmont passed away peacefully at her home on May 13, 2020.

Born July 5, 1941, daughter of Joseph and Rose (Hreha) Zurenda. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward. Survived by her daughters, Christine Trotz-Cosgrove, married to Richard Cosgrove, and Karen Trotz, married to David DiCarlo; grandsons, Rex and Leo Cosgrove; sisters, Theresa, Ann, Veronica and Rosemary; and brothers, Daniel, Henry and John.

Millie was employed as a registered nurse, caring for patients with disabilities and special needs. She was a faithful member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church, participating as Eucharistic Minister, lector and funeral choir member. She was passionate about Bible studies and taught classes in her home and at the Senior Center. She was always up for a challenge, whether it was leading her Bible trivia quiz team to a second place finish or spreading hope to those incarcerated through the prison ministry. Millie enjoyed music, cooking and spending time with her family.

Services will be private for the immediate family.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.

As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made in her name to Windber Health Care Foundation, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963, or to a charity of your choice.
