Norbert “Slim” Jordan, 88, of Johnstown PA, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 6, 2024 while being cared for by the wonderful and caring CNA’s, nurses and Windber Hospice nurses at Arbutus Park Retirement Home.
He was born in Johnstown, PA on March 22, 1935 to Norbert J. Jordan, Sr. and Rose Marie (Killian) Jordan. Slim was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Donna Jordan, son Steven “Mick” Jordan, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jewel Jordan, sister and brother-in-law Lois and John Derenak, and brother-in-law Stanley Mikulsky.
He is survived by his wife Florence “Tootie” Jordan; children Thomas Jordan (Laurie) of Felton, PA, Robert Jordan (Carol) of Johnstown, daughter-in-law Christine Jordan of Broadway, VA, and David Jordan (Erin) of Port Matilda, step-children; Linda DelSignore (Lou), Diane Pudliner (Ed), Ted Helsel (Chris), Tim Helsel (Chris), Bonnie Lloyd (Vince), all of Johnstown, brother Dean Jordan (Patricia) and sister Carol Mikulsky. He was loved and cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
“Slim” was well known in Johnstown for his expert autobody, auto painting, and radiator repair skills. He owned and operated Auto Body Crafts, Messenger St. Johnstown, PA, for over 3 decades. When he wasn’t fixing cars, Slim was coaching baseball at a number of levels in the Conemaugh Township Youth Baseball Programs. He was also the Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 214 in North Fork. He loved hunting with his sons, brothers, brothers-in-law, and friends.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown, PA 15905. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 609 Park Ave. Johnstown, PA 15902. Fr. Matthew Baum. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
