Nunzio T. Johncola

Nunzio T. Johncola, 80, of Johnstown, died on October 3, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on December 10, 1941, in Johnstown, son of Samuel and Leoda (Nelson) Johncola.

Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law Jack Hanson and Joseph Arcuri.

Survived by loving wife of 59 years Nancy (Arcuri) Johncola, children Samuel Joseph married to Barbara (Kamler), Stephen Thomas married to Leah (Glosser), grandchildren Pauline, Eric, Isabella, and Elijah Johncola, and sister Catherine Hanson. Also survived by in-laws Frank Arcuri (Sheila), Anthony Arcuri (Laurie), Connie Arcuri, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Nunzio retired from the City of Johnstown after 34 years in the Parks Department as the head groundskeeper of the Point Stadium. He was president of AFSME Local Union 630 for 30 years and was a former City Councilman for 16 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM Friday, October 7, 2022, at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Fr. Matthew Baum. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
