Robert "Bob" A. Bero

Robert "Bob" A. Bero, 82, of Upper Yoder, died on April 18, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Born February 3, 1938 in Cairnbook PA, son of Andrew A. Bero and Evelyn Mary Mihalko. Preceded in death by his parents, stepfather George Appley Sr., brother William and his wife Carol. Survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 62 years Margaret (Berkebile); loving children Andy, married to Joni (Atkinson); Judy, wife of Bob Sliko; and Mark, married to Diane (Huber); grandchildren Bobby, Matt, Kelsey, and Mark; great grandchildren Talan, Charlotte, and Rohan; sister June, wife of Paul Bestvina; and sister-in-law Joyce.

Family was the most important thing to Bob, who cared for and frequently visited and talked with all his nieces and nephews. Bob also enjoyed interacting with his many “grand dogs and cats.”

Bob was a 1956 graduate of Johnstown High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Math and Physical Education from Lock Haven University. He retired from Forest Hills High School as a Math Teacher. While teaching, Bob coached football at Forest Hills High School and was instrumental in forming their wrestling team that he coached for many years. He loved to vacation with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Flood City YMCA Divers, Pecan Club and Men's Nightout.

Bob’s extended family includes his many friends and all of his neighbors whose support is greatly appreciated during this time
