Neal Colyer, age 74, passed peacefully in his home on November 13, 2025 in Westmont, PA.
Neal, beloved son of Harvey and Mildred (Stone) Colyer of Leary, TX, was born on August 1st, 1951, in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1970, where he was a proud member of the choir and football team. Neal served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Police Officer, was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #412 in Farmington, New Mexico, and later graduated from the New Mexico Policy Academy where he went on to work and retire from the Los Alamos Police Department in 2000.
Music was one of Neal’s greatest joys. As a longtime member of the Grapevine Opry in Grapevine, TX, and the lead singer of country music band Saturday Night Special, he cherished performing, singing and volunteering his time to support Opry programs and events. Neal also had a passion for fishing and boating with his dear friends Gary Griffin and Reggie Briggle.
Preceded in death by parents, sister, Annita Charlton, and daughter, Christi Nobrega.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Joanne (Treat) Colyer; children, Michael Colyer, Jennifer (Colyer) Sutton and her husband Stefan, Brian Colyer and his wife Laura (Elliott) Colyer, and Monica Nobrega; sister, Cheryl Colyer; brother, Norman Colyer and his wife Donna; cherished grandchildren, Brianna Sutton, Hayden Sutton, and Madelyn Sutton.
He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Service will be held 12 noon on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Moxham Covenant Brethren Church, 536 Grove Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902. Pastor Dan Rhodes officiating.
