Rose Caeti Obituary

A Mother holds her children’s hands for a while and their hearts forever!

ROSE MARIE CAETI (LOVETRO), 87, left her earthly life on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 3:58pm EST. She is now in her eternal home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rose was born on December 21, 1933 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Michael Lovetro and Elizabeth Lovetro (Dicindio). Her parents were Italian immigrants and she was youngest of five children, Edward, Nicholas, Samuel and Anthony, all who preceded her in death. Rose’s parents died when she was young so she and her brothers were raised by their Aunt Millie (Dicindio) Dantrilli DelSignore  (Zitzi), daughters, Mary (Shoemaker), Geraldine (Zucco), and Viola (Taormina) all proceeded in death, too.  Rose has numerous nieces and nephews all over the country who she loved dearly and always stayed in touch with.  She enjoyed their many phone calls and letters throughout her lifetime.

Rose graduated from Johnstown High School in 1951.  At the age of 20, she and her husband,  (James Angelo Caeti - deceased 1999) moved to Palo Alto, California for 8 years and then Glendale, California for 4 years. The family moved back to Johnstown in 1965 and Rose worked at Riverside BiLo in the bakery department and as a cashier for many years. Rose also was Regional Supervisor for the United Dairy Farm Stores for several years, including the time of the 1977 Johnstown Flood.  Later, Rose was a Hostess at the Westmont Eat N Park where she greeted all the patrons with her beautiful smile.

Rose has two daughters, Lynn Ann Berkebile who resides in Johnstown, who was her full-time devoted loving  caregiver, and Nancy Caeti, married to Lance Larkin, who resides in Denver, Colorado. She also has 3 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Justin Berkebile (38) and Karissa Armstrong (Bellefonte, Pennsylvania). Justin is Executive Chef at Barrel 21 and Otto’s. They have two children: Jace Lee, 6 years old and Willow Rose, 2 ½ years old. Jordan Berkebile (36) and Amanda Torroni (Summerville, South Carolina). Jordan works as a Systems Engineer at Naval Information Warfare Center. They have three children: Brighton, (8), August (1 ½ years) and Ellis (3 mos.). Alexandra Rose Manuel, 28, lives in Busselton, Western Australia where she works as a Life Worker for At-Risk-Children. Rose’s 20-year love was Tom Shilcosky, from Ferndale, who went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2017. They re-united in Heaven on the 4thAnniversary of his passing!

Rose took so much pride in caring for her family; her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren – they truly were her greatest gifts in life! And, she loved to serve others too, as was so apparent when preparing, cooking and serving her many great meals, like her famous spaghetti and meatballs. Everyone appreciated her great culinary skills and it’s because of those skills that her grandson, Justin, decided to become a chef.  When she was young she loved to golf and she also loved to play pinochle with her friends, especially AJ & Kathy, and she enjoyed entertaining many guests in her home. Rose and Tom also used to love playing the slot machines and would travel to West Virginia to hit the casinos.

Rose was saved by grace and loved to attend Bible studies. She knew that accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Savior would ensure her eternity in Heaven. She knew that Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection into Heaven meant that as a believer, there was nothing else she needed to do to have salvation. Jesus did it all for her and us when He spoke the three most loving and selfless words in all of human history -- IT IS FINISHED!!!

Thank you, Mom, for loving us and caring for us your entire life – we love and miss you so much and we cannot wait to see you again in Heaven!

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15)
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

A Celebration of Rose's Life will be planned and announced by the family at a later date.
