Samuel M. Cammarata, 78, of Johnstown passed away suddenly on October 14, 2025 in Johnstown, PA, born June 11,1947 in Johnstown. Son of the late Frank and Malina (Brown).
Survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 49 years Joan (Glovany), loving daughter Andrea Cammarata married to Harsha Kurpad of Frederick, MD., son Frank Cammarata of Johnstown, and daughter Malina married to Tim Grady of Frederick, MD. and grandson Robby Grady, also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.
Sam was a 1965 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. He received his Bachelor of Business Education Degree from Southern Florida College. He entered the U.S. Army in the ROTC program during the Vietnam Era, and was based in South Korea where he became 1st Lieutenant. He began his teaching career at Windber High School. He retired from the Hiram G. Andrews Center after 30 years of teaching. Sam was lifetime member of St. Clare of Assisi Church, formerly St. Anthony Church. He was ordained Deacon in the Altoona - Johnstown Diocese. He served at St. Columba Church, Holy Spirit Church, St. Andrews Church, Church of the Resurrection, and St. Clare of Assisi Church.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy and the ISDA Lodge. Sam was a loving and caring son, husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Friends will be received 4-8 PM Friday October 17, 2025 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel,1622 Menoher Blvd, Johnstown PA 15905
Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Clare of Assisi Church, Maple Avenue. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown .
