Sara M. Burgo

Sara M. Burgo, 89 of Johnstown PA , "Old Conemaugh Borough", died July 29, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 29, 1937 in Johnstown. Daughter of Jesus and Maria (Santana) Santoyo.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph V. Burgo, who died in 1994, infant sister Caroline, sister Bridget, brothers Nicholas and Alex Santoyo.

Survived by loving children Joseph married to Sally (Javos), Elaine married to Robert Kostial, Michael married to Cindy (DiLoreto) and Stephen married to Melissa (Bracken).  Grandchildren Angela married to Brad McClain, Jessica (Dustin Belskey), Emily married to Jake Levy, Alena, Alexander, Joshua, Jacob, Hannah (Jake Richards) and Benjamin.  Great Grandchildren Amelia, Mackenzie, Duncan and Jackson.  Sisters Rita, Maria, Lupe and Rebecca.  Brothers Jesus Jr and Joseph, and all her loving nieces and nephews.  Sara who is now reunited with her husband Joseph was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put her family first. She loved hosting Holiday and Family events. She enjoyed scrapbooking and also socializing with her many friends at the Union Social Club.

Sara graduated from Franklin High School.  She was formerly employed as a telephone operator for the phone company, a teachers assistant at the Hudson Street School and retired as a telephone operator from U.P.J.

Friends received from 5-7 pm on Sunday August 2, 2026 at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.

Sara was a faithful Catholic and longtime member of St. John Gaulbert Cathedral, where her Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 pm Monday August 3, 2026. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
