Shane Michael Hoffman

Shane Michael Hoffman, 25, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 5, 2026, following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Born on April 1, 2001, in Windber, Pennsylvania, Shane was proudly completing an internship with Bosch Rexroth, where he was building the future he had worked so hard to achieve.

To know Shane was to love him. He had an infectious smile, a quick wit, and a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved. He brought laughter wherever he went and had a heart that naturally put others first. Through his large online community, he formed lasting friendships with people around the world, leaving an impact far beyond those who had the privilege of knowing him in person.

Even in his final act, Shane’s generosity continued through the gift of organ donation, giving hope and life to others. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the lives that continue because of him.

Shane is survived by his loving mother, Melissa Chowdhry, and his father, Omar Chowdhry, who lovingly raised him as his own; his brother, Brandon Hoffman; his beloved sisters, Alleyah Chowdhry and Zahra Chowdhry; his biological father, Christopher Hoffman, and his wife, Dolores; his brother, CJ; his stepsisters, Hope and Grace; and his maternal grandparents, Mike and Yevonne Horwitz, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond.

He is also lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Hoffman, and his uncle, Michael Joe Horwitz, whose name he proudly carried.

Those who held a special place in Shane’s heart include his best friend, Dylan Edwards; his brother by choice, Logan McKaveney; his cousins and lifelong friends, Seth Horwitz and Alex Horwitz; and his faithful dog, Odin, whose loyal companionship meant the world to him.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Shane’s life and share memories at Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown, on Friday, August 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, August 22, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Following Saturday’s gathering at the funeral home, all who knew and loved Shane are invited to continue celebrating his life at the Chowdhry family home, where stories, laughter, and memories will be shared in honor of the incredible young man he was.

Shane’s life was a gift, his love was genuine, and his laughter was unforgettable. Though our hearts are broken, we will carry his light with us until the day God reunites us. Until then, we will honor him by loving others as deeply as he did.
