Stephen G. Zamias Sr., 67, of Westmont, passed away on November 2, 2024, in Johnstown, PA, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 13, 1957, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late George D. and Marianna (Dallee) Zamias.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Samuel C. and George Jr.
He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Stephen G. Jr. (Julianna Michaels), Danielle Carlson (Kris), Jessica Zamias (Ben Badger) of Ogden, Utah, and Jennifer Zamias of Pensacola, Florida, and by his beloved, Mary Ann Lambrinos. He was a devoted grandfather to his seven grandsons: Colby, Cullen, Dylan, Xypher, Ixander, Zarek, and Xerxes, who will always treasure the special bond they shared. Stephen is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who held him dear.
Stephen’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons—whether it was cheering them on at hockey practices or sharing life’s lessons with them. He loved talking hockey, especially with his family, and was always eager to share his thoughts and stories about the game. In addition to his love for his family, Stephen found happiness in simple pleasures—he loved basking in the warmth of the sun, feeling its rays on his face, and enjoying long drives in the car with the music turned up.
A dedicated professional, Stephen spent over 46 years in Real Estate Development and Finance, retiring from Zamias Services Inc. and Real Estate. He was a proud graduate of Bishop McCort High School (1975) and St. Francis University (1979). Over the years, Stephen was an active member of his community, serving on the boards of UPJ, 1st Summit Bank, and JARI. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Stephen’s life on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd.
Friends and Family will meet Monday 10:00 AM for a Funeral Service at Christ the Savior Cathedral, 300 Garfield Street, with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert Buczak officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
