Steven E. Knowlton, 71, of Richland, died on May 1, 2022, at home. Born on November 25, 1950, in Watertown NY, son of Earl and Kathleen (DeBovis) Knowlton.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Kathie Ann Knowlton and Pamela Ernest, father and mother-in-law Lawrence F. and Ruth V. (Boyle) VanNest, brother-in-law Paul J. VanNest and stepmother Mary Pauline Knowlton.
Survived by his loving wife of 45 years Kathleen (VanNest) Knowlton, brothers Peter Knowlton and Thomas Knowlton, and two nieces and four nephews.
Steve was a 1969 graduate of East Corning High School in Corning New York. He retired as the General Manager of Harley Davidson in Ft. Washington Maryland.
Steve served with the PA National Guard 628 103rd Armored Battalion for 15 years.
He volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Financial Aid Center and was a member of VFW Post 155, American Legion, BPOE ELKS 175, and Rolling Thunder Inc., where he participated in Veterans Programs in Maryland.
A special thank you to the staff at Hillman Cancer Centers in Altoona and Johnstown, Windber Palliative Unit, and the staff from Windber Hospice, where Steve was always treated with kindness and compassion.
He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was involved with Stephen Ministry. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 6, 2022. Fr. David Peles.
Friends received from 4-7 PM on Thursday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, East Hills Chapel and Crematory, 404 Walters Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904. (Near PA Drivers Center and Armory).
Private Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
