Sylvester Scaletta II

Sylvester Scaletta II, 77 of Johnstown, passed away on April 29, 2024. Born on May 18, 1946, in Johnstown, son of the late Vito "Charlie" and Eva (Michlena) Scaletta.

Survived by his son Brian K. Scaletta and his wife Lori (Ray), of Johnstown, former spouse Edie Scaletta, of Johnstown, brothers Charles "Chuck" Scaletta and his fiancé Christine Rosko, and Richard Scaletta and his wife Judy.

Sly was a 1964 graduate of Johnstown High School and graduated from Cambria Rowe Business College. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from David Myers College located in Cleveland Ohio.

He founded Sylvester Scaletta II CPA in 1977. He was a well-known respected businessman in the Johnstown Area and had a successful career in accounting.

The sociable outgoing man that he was, he was a member of the Johnstown Ski Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was on the UCP Board and also a part of multiple Alzheimer's Organizations.

He came from a passionate generation of drummers, enjoyed biking, always working out, and loved to play pool.

A very sincere thank you to the caring nurses at 10th Floor Conemaugh, the entire staff at the McCullough place for their compassion and outstanding care for Dad, to Interim Hospice for their kindness and care, and a special thank you to Lisa Alva, his round the clock amazing caregiver and our friend.

For Sly's past/current clients, close friends, and family, a Celebration of his Life will be held at the Blvd. Grill on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 from 5-8 PM.
