Thomas S. Hammerle Sr.

Thomas S. Hammerle Sr., 88, of Westmont, died on April 18, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on December 24, 1933, in Johnstown, son of Clarence B. and Grace P. (Comey) Hammerle. Preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Survived by his loving wife Joan (Eakle) Hammerle, children, Lee Ann, Joyce, Thomas Jr., and Robert, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Tom was a well-known and respected entrepreneur for over 30 years and the owner of multiple, successful businesses in the Johnstown area. Thomas met Joan when they were 13 and were happily married for 70 years.  Tom was a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He attended the University of Alabama, and upon discharge from the Air Force, returned home to begin working in the family businesses. Tom lived his last years retired at Laurel View Village, where he was very involved in the music program because Tom always had a “SONG in his HEART.”

Friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at Noon on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Johnstown PA 15905. Very Rev. Mark S. Begly. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
