Valerie "Baba" F. Otvos, 84, of Windber, died on March 24, 2024. Born on September 11, 1939 in Windber, daughter of William and Mary (Huska) Phillips.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Survived by her daughters Valerie wife of Norm Chynoweth, Mary Jo Schreiner, and Monica wife of Bill Loyselle, grandchildren Frank Chynoweth (Abby), Nicole Steck (Matthew), Rickey, Amanda, Christopher, Amanda Loyselle, Jessica and Travis, great grandchildren Aria, Ethan, and Ryot. Also survived by her sisters Mary Ann Neiderhizer, Helen Urdzik, and Pauline Pollock, and brother William Phillips. Also, Joseph Otvos (Linda), father of Valerie, Mary Jo, and Monica. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Valerie was a 1957 graduate of Windber High School and retired after 34 years of service at the Church of the Brethren Home. She loved music, Elvis, Bingo, and gambling. Valerie will be sadly missed by her family.

All services will be held privately for the family.
