Virginia Holzapfel Obituary

Virginia S. Holzapfel, 98, of Laurel View Village, Davidsville PA, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Born May 11, 1922 in Johnstown, daughter of Edward and Alvina (Van Eizenga) Betts.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, William G.; brother, Edward; and sister, Phyllis Tiffany.

Survived by sons, Robert W. (Barbara) of Barrington, NJ and Jeffrey P. (Paula) of Pittsburgh PA; daughter, Jean A. Vaveris (Andrew) of Tinley Park, IL; grandchildren, Erik Vaveris (Jane) of Arlington Heights, IL; Kara Joyce (Thomas) of Chicago, IL; Kami Johnson of Rock Island, IL; Alis Baldwin (Donnie) of Vineland, NJ; and Heidi Holzapfel of McKees Rocks, PA; great-grandchildren; Kinzie Johnson, Gabriel Joyce, Gwen Vaveris, and Zoe Joyce; special niece Karen Gaydis. Also survived by sister, Janet Umbach.

Virginia was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She loved her family and especially enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private Memorial Service held at convenience of family. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum.
