William J. "Bill" Sabo, 79, marched on to glory on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Born January 31, 1943, in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Genevieve (Rowe) Sabo.
Preceded in death by father Joseph and mother Genevieve, sisters Kathleen, Loretta, Gertrude Ann. Also infant siblings Martin, Gerald and Jean Ellen.
He is survived by daughter Christina Sabo, son Sean Sabo, sisters Jeanette Mancuso, brother Bob, several nephews and nieces. Also close family members of the Mancuso family and his ex-wife Gail Sabo, whom he remained friendly with.
Bill graduated from Johnstown High School in 1961. He joined the National Guard in 1961, where he served as a medic. He retired from the Ebensburg State School, after working there for 30 years as a custodial engineer. Bill was a huge animal lover and loved his furbabies and grand-kitties, including his good friend and next door neighbor, Simon the Cat, and all the furbabies at the Rainbow bridge. He loved 50's and 60's music, Sha Na Na's music TV show, and the Brian Setzer Orchestra and was even a member of some bands for the Vibra-Sonics and the Showmen where he played lead guitar.
Bill loved to watch various crime themed TV shows including Law and Order. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and a longtime member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Funeral Home at 3:30 PM.
